Marine survey examples

These samples are from recent marine surveys. Photos and identifying details have been altered to protect the owners; otherwise they are exactly as delivered to the customer. Whether it's a 110 year old classic yacht or a 5 year old performance power cruiser, the marine survey will involve a full inspection of the entire boat, identify any faults and describe how to fix them. Pre-purchase survey on a 2006 Larson 274. A well looked after imported US speed boat, sold by the UK's main dealers at Littlehampton.

Insurance survey on a 1930's 36' teak sloop. A cutting edge design from the 30's, restored from a derelict to being displayed at the 2007 Excel boat show by Classic Boat magazine as an example of a high quality restoration.

Pre purchase survey on a 1980 Princess 45. A well used classic 1980's power boat, featured in Motor Boats Monthly in November 2008. Faults to the shafts, propellers and fuel tanks were identified and the purchase price negotiated accordingly.

Pre-purchase survey on a 90' Dutch barge built of riveted iron in 1909. A motorized, traditional Dutch sailing ‘Tjalk’, surveyed on the south coast where she had been laid up. She was repaired under supervision and taken up the Channel under her own power to a new life on the Thames.

Pre-purchase survey on a 2002 Malo 39. A high quality cruising yacht, surveyed and recommendations made to prepare her for ocean cruising.

Pre-purchase survey on a 1989 Gibsea 282. A well used but good quality cruiser racer. The survey picked up various minor faults, none unusual for a boat of this age.
